Thanksgiving cupcakes are not the typical Thanksgiving food but it is nice to have something besides pie.I think every holiday is a cupcake occasion. I do love pie but I like to have a variety of desserts, in one sitting. I have a thing for sweets that look like savory foods. If you haven’t seen my hot dog cupcakes check those out too: https://simplecraftyfun.com/2015/06/hot-dog-cupcakes/ Everyone will love these cupcakes and be super impressed with how much they look like mashed potatoes, corn, and stuffing. They are easy to make and you can use store bought cupcakes to save time or use your favorite cupcake recipe. You could make one or all of these for your Thanksgiving dessert table!
For the corn cupcakes I used candy corn you could also use yellow M&Ms, skittles or jelly beans. I really had never thought about the fact that candy corn is called candy “corn”, the yellow party lined up looks like corn! I think I have been living under a rock haha.
For the mash potatoes and gravy you need white frosting and caramel sauce. Optional: a yellow starburst.
Shape the frosting in a round shape then press the back of a spoon into the middle of the cupcake to create a circle just in the middle. Put a spoonful of caramel sauce in the middle, then top it off with a yellow starburst if you want.
For the stuffing cupcakes I used caramel macchiato candy corn chopped into small pieces. You could also use other light brown candy or cereal chopped up. Then just sprinkle it on top.
Aren’t they super cute! I really like the mashed potato ones.
