If you’ve seen any of my Thanksgiving posts you know I can’t cook Thanksgiving food. I can make desserts and cute decorations that’s more my thing. This year I am making a side dish and even that intimidates me! I cannot tell you how many times I have ruined mashed potatoes. We are also doing Thanksgiving a little early to work with the families schedule so I really need to start figuring out what I can make. I did figure out how to make these cute turkey treat bags with free printable tags and that’s important too ;). These little turkey bags are really easy! You can stuff them with candy or non-candy options, whichever you prefer. Stickers, crayons or bubbles could be fun too. You can hand them out to kids in class. I think I will make some stuffed with fun little toys and crayons for the kids table at Thanksgiving. It is hard to get kids to sit through a big meal and activities always help :).
What you need to make them:
napkins or tissue paper in any combination of brown, yellow, red or orange(The dollar store has red, yellow and orange napkins)
tape
scissors
ribbon
googly eyes
orange paper
Lay the napkins spread out color side down. If you are using multiple colors put one of each color starting with the red or brown. With tissue paper just unfold it and use one of each color(3 sheets). I had small tissue paper squares from a craft project that I just stuffed into the top. A full piece would be easier but I’m all about working with what you have. Put the treat in the middle of the napkin or tissue paper.
Tie a ribbon around it leaving a bit on the top. Tape on the googly eyes. Cut the orange paper into a 1 inch square piece, then cut the square in half diagonally so there are two triangles. Tape one triangle on to each bag for the mouth. Then tie on the I’m stuffed tag if you would like.
They turned out really cute but don’t look too much like real turkeys. Lets get real, actual turkeys are not cute, I prefer the cutesy versions! Get the printable below. You can use the I’m stuffed printable on any gift bag for Thanksgiving. They would be cute even on paper bags with turkey faces. The tags could also go on to go bags/containers for people to bring home leftovers!
