Life can’t always be rainbows and unicorns but sometimes it can. If you have adorable rainbow donuts with marshmallow clouds it can! Also unicorn cupcakes like these cuties https://simplecraftyfun.com/2015/09/unicorn-cupcakes/. I like to bring as much rainbows and unicorns into my life as possible. Adulting is hard and so is being a parent. Sometimes you have to make your own rainbows and I prefer everything in donut form ;). They are also sleepy like I am most the time. Rainbows and adults deserve naps. These little donuts would be perfect for birthday parties, St. Patrick’s Day, or slumber parties.
You can use store bought plain or glazed donuts or this donut recipe for cake mix donuts https://simplecraftyfun.com/2016/02/birthday-cake-donuts-with-buttercream-glaze/
To make them you need:
donuts
M&Ms
candy melts
marshmallows
Cut donuts in half. Dip donuts in candy melts. I used yellow because that’s what I had on hand. White or any rainbow color would be best.
Line M&Ms around the top and then another color below it. I used easter M&Ms for the pastel colors. You can use two or three colors for each donut.
Rip a marshmallow in half and put it on the bottom of each side. It should stick to the candy melts but you can dip it in the melts to make sure it is secure. Draw on a sleepy or smiley face if you want. You can use mini marshmallows for the clouds as well.
They are just so cute!
