This year my daughter knew right away what her party theme would be. She has been obsessed with Moana lately and wanted to have a Moana party. It’s actually a really good movie, one of the best kids movies I have seen in a while. I couldn’t find a lot of actually Moana decorations but this time of year the party store is filled with colorful, tropical fun so I snatched up all of those fun decorations! I love how everything turned out and my daughter really loved it. Of course I had to DIY a few things but most of it was simple to put together. I hope I can give you some inspiration and ideas to make a fun Moana party! Let’s get this party started!
I made some simple balloon centerpieces. I love the use of balloons for centerpieces and garlands lately. All you need to make them are a few sizes of balloons, needle and thread, and tropical paper leaves.
For pictures I had a make yourself shiny photo prop area. This included gold beads, silly sunglasses, shiny leis, and shiny headbands. Then a shiny colorful photo backdrop for people to stand in front of for pictures. My daughter loves the shiny guy so I had to include something for her. Get the “Make Yourself Shiny” sign CLICK HERE
Since we showed the movie Moana I had to make a Pua popcorn sign. Also I had Hei Hei approved snacks. I cut up pineapple and served it in a half of a pineapple. For the cute food labels CLICK HERE
For the dessert table I used plastic table cloths for the backdrop. Tied to the sideĀ like curtain. In front of the table I made a tissue paper “grass skirt” garland. Plus, these fun Moana, Hei Hei, and Pua printables. Get the printable bannerĀ CLICK HERE. I also have a heart of tefiti banner CLICK HERE
I made some easy Moana desserts! The Hei Hei and Pua cupcakes were a huge hit with the kids! They ate those up. They turned out so adorable. The “shiny” shell cake balls were also easy to make and kids love cake balls or cake pops. I just added blue candy melts and some gold sprinkles on top to make them shiny. Then for the cake I found a simple cake to make from pinterest. It was really easy to put together with the pirouette cookies around the sides and the top I just put blue frosting that I swirled around to look like water.
For the gift bags I made some simple gift bag toppers. I just used cellophane bags stuffed with tissue paper. Then I added a few little toys including bubbles, temporary tattoos, stickers, and balls.
The party was so cute and my daughter loved it all!
