These free templates come in a few styles and sizes. This way you can pick which one you want to use. These include just the leprechaun head, a simple leprechaun, and even a dancing leprechaun. The first template is a very simple leprechaun that would be perfect for a preschool craft. This one I tried not to make too complicated for the littles. He has a big leprechaun hat and is a cute happy leprechaun.
First is the coloring version for kids to use for leprechaun coloring pages. They can color the leprechaun then build their own leprechaun

Build A Leprechaun
Supplies:
White printer paper or white cardstock paper, cardstock paper is sturdier
The free printable pdf file of your choice, use one or all of them
Scissors
Glue stick or white school glue
Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
Optional: colorful cardstock, craft paper, or construction paper. For a puppet or more sturdy leprechaun use white cardstock paper
Optional: pom poms, pipe cleaners, googley eyes, glitter, or tissue paper to decorate. These craft supplies can allow kids to make the leprechaun their own and decorate it.
Optional: popsicle stick or brads to make it into a puppet.
Directions:
First you will pick the template you want to use. Download the digital file by clicking on the CLICK HERE writing above the image you wish to use. Then print it at a local print shop or print it at home on a home printer. I print at home but for a large group you might want to use a print shop.
Once you have printed out the template it is time to make a leprechaun!
Kids can color directly on to the printed out sheets.
Then cut out the leprechaun paper pieces. Depending on the age of the kids they can cut out the pieces themselves or an adult can have them cut out and ready to assemble.
Glue the pieces together with a glue stick, craft glue, or white glue. You can glue them on to a sheet of paper or just on their own. The beard goes behind the head, the ears behind the beard, and the hat goes on top of the head in the middle. The body can be glued behind the beard as well.
To make the leprechaun into a puppet add it to a popsicle stick. You can also add brads for the arms and legs of the dancing leprechaun to make it a dancing puppet. Just punch a hole in the top of the arms and legs. Then on the sides and bottom of the body. Put the brads through the holes and push them outwards in the back. Now you have a lucky leprechaun puppet.
It is so easy to make a simple leprechaun craft for a fun day with kids. This craft is a great way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with kids or a class. Other fun leprechaun crafts are making a diy leprechaun trap, a leprechaun house, rainbow snacks such as a fruit salad, a rainbow paper chain, and a wearable leprechaun’s hat. I hope this gives you some inspiration to have a fun St. Patrick’s Day!
