Butterfly Wings Printable
Butterflies are such beautiful creatures and make really cute crafts! These butterfly wing templates are perfect for kids crafts and coloring pages. There are simple butterfly wing outlines and more intricate designs. All of the butterflies are free printable templates.
They can be used for kids and adults. Kids can make wearable butterfly wings, use a straw for a flying butterfly craft, or make a butterfly sun catcher. There are little butterfly wings, medium wings, and a large size wings. Some of the butterflies are simple butterfly outlines and then there are detailed butterfly templates. This way you will have options for making different types of butterfly crafts.
The butterflies can be used for a butterfly craft, making a paper butterfly with construction paper, butterfly party decorations, or in a classroom learning about the butterfly life cycle.

Free Butterfly Wing Templates
First is just a blank butterfly shape. This basic outline of a butterfly can be used to make a fun butterfly craft with paper or to decorate with craft supplies.
Next is the simple butterfly with just the wings these wings are simple and can be used for a variety of crafts. It also has a separate sheet for the butterfly’s body in case you want to build a butterfly.
Butterfly #1 Large Butterfly Wings
The next of the butterfly designs is more of an abstract butterfly. This butterfly has a fun design for kids with wavy lines. You can still add fun craft supplies to the butterfly template.
The next butterfly has a different wing shape but is still a simple outline. These wings are larger.
The next butterfly wings are a monarch butterfly wing design. Monarch butterflies are such beautiful butterflies and these would be great with a learning activity. Here is a tip for printing these wings to add orange just print on orange cardstock paper that is 8.5×11″ size.
The next free butterfly printables are also monarchs but from a side view. These are more realistic butterfly templates. This design has a large wing butterfly and smaller ones.
Using the Butterfly Templates
First you will want to download the free printable pdf files. The files can be downloaded by clicking on the blue writing above the image of the butterfly wings you want to print. These are for personal use non commercial use but the templates can be printed out multiple times. Once you have the free template downloaded it is time to print. These files can be printed on a home printer or at a local print shop. If you want them in color print on colorful cardstock paper in 8.5×11″ size. Then you can print out the colorful butterflies and just have to cut them out.
Crafting a Butterfly
Add a few craft supplies to make cute butterflies! You can add cotton balls, pom poms, googley eyes, giant pipe cleaners, attach it to a popsicle stick or larger straw. They can be turned in to puppets and used for pretend play.
You can make a butterfly wand or suncatcher. Make a 3d butterfly with the wings on paper then add a pipe cleaner or pom poms for the body.
These templates are so easy to use with printer paper, construction paper, foam paper, or cardstock paper. Use them for decorations, party decorations, or a classroom activity.
