Craft Room Challenge Before Pics

Craft Room Challenge Week 1

It is the beginning of the year and you know what that means, time to get organized! Ok I never actually say it is time to get organized. Typically I have accepted that I am an unorganized mess and that I will always exist in a pile of stuff. However, in the past I have been in apartments and working with small amounts of space. Now I have my own office/craft room and I want to make it look nice. It is kind of in the middle of an identity crisis. Is it a guest room, craft room, office, place for my daughter to work on school work, or place for me to just pile up random stuff that doesn’t have a place yet. So far the random piles have won out over anything functional. I end up taking my computer into the kitchen because that room feels too chaotic to work in. Well that is about to change thanks to a little kick in the butt from the crafty ladies of the Craft Cult organizing the Craft Room Challenge 2018. We want you all to follow along with us and organize your own space as well! We are tackling one area at a time to make it smooth sailing and not crazy overwhelming. If I can do it you can all do it too! The best part is there are so many ladies organizing their mess of a craft room. Everyone has different supplies to organize, levels of mess, and areas of crafting that they specialize in. You can find your crafty spirit animal in this group that has the same messy issues that you do. read more

DIY Unicorn Ornament

I was compensated for this post. This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Are you all ready for Christmas? Yes, I know it’s not even Halloween or Thanksgiving but Christmas is my favorite craft time of year. The best thing about these DIY Unicorn Ornaments is that you can hang these up year round. Unicorns are cute for kids rooms and really any occasion. I might have to hang some of these cuties in my office. It has kind of a unicorn vibe anyways. I used a few simple materials from Dollar Tree to get this cute look with faux flowers, gems, and gold pipe cleaners to make a sparkly cute unicorn ornament. Anyone can make these and they are cute for kids to help out with the stick on gems and drawing the face. Although, leave the hot gluing up to the professionals. read more

Halloween Candy Wrappers

Halloween is the time of candy. Everyone has a favorite and these is something for everyone. I made some cute and simple Halloween candy wrappers that work for any kind of candy bars big and small. Just adjust the size based on what type of candy you are wrapping. These are cute for kids and to have in the candy bowl to hand out on Halloween. I of course had to add some googley eyes because everything is cuter with google eyes. I had taken a little break from using them but I am back to using them all the time! Seriously, they are the cutest for all kinds of kids crafts and party projects. I think the little frankensteins are of the cutest of these ones but I love them all. I made mummies, frankensteins, and jack o lanterns. Cute, cute, and cute! My daughter absolutely loved them. I use her as a tester of projects to make sure things will be kid approved. They passed her test. Although, anything with candy passes her test. read more

Jack O Lantern Treat Bags

Continuing with fun and easy Halloween treat bags I have these easy jack o lantern treat bags. These are simple to make and oh so cute! I made them in orange and gold. The black and gold work great for adult gifts and parties. The orange is cute for kids. The gold looked really good in person but didn’t photograph as well. I love simple ideas for holidays because nobody has time for anything too complicated. Plus, anyone and.I mean anyone can make these little jack o lantern treat bags. I must confess that I really do not like making actual jack o lanterns. Carving pumpkins is such a pain in the butt. Maybe I’m just bitter because mine always turn out uneven and just all around horrible. Now they make cute stencils for the pumpkins but even with those carving is just not my jam. However, making treat bags is and that is why I am sticking to what I know on the blog. read more

Monster Treat Bags

I’m ready to get into the Halloween fun! Candy, monsters, and pumpkins oh my. Halloween is such a fun holiday. It’s in my top 2 for sure. This year I have a bunch of fun simple Halloween ideas and I can’t wait to share them with you all! These monster treat bags are such a simple idea for handing out candy, little treats for classes, and kids. Kids can help make them and I whipped them up in minutes. I just love the simple ideas that still turn out oh so cute. I haven’t made any creepy projects for Halloween this year but as my daughter gets older I plan to add in some of the fun and spooky side of Halloween. My mom started us early with the scary movies but I think with my daughter she would never sleep alone again if I showed her one of the scarier Halloween movies. I still can barely watch the Chuckie movies. So for now we will stick to the simple innocent side of Halloween. read more

Mermaid Pumpkin DIY

DIY Mermaid Pumpkin

Mermaid Pumpkin DIY

I’ve seen pretty sparkly pumpkins in recent years that look so fun for Halloween. I wish when I was a kid we had Pinterest to find blogs with super cool ideas for holidays. Luckily raising my daughter I can find fun inspiration and lots of supplies at the craft store. Oh what a time to be alive! There might be craziness in the world but the crafting has never been better. I was wanting sparkle without using glitter so I used glitter spray paint and it was so fun to use! I may have gotten a little extra sparkle on our patio, whoopsie, I hope my fiancé likes the glitter porch. I’ve been on a mermaid kick since the summer and I wanted to bring it into the fall. Mermaids don’t need to stay in the summer and since we live near the ocean why not have a mermaid themed pumpkin. I love how pretty and sparkly this diy mermaid pumpkin is, I think it looked even better in person. It’s hard to capture in pictures just how sparkly it looks. read more

Easy Ocean Rocks

Sometimes you can get to the beach and other times you need the beach to come to you! I made these easy ocean rocks to bring a little calm into my life and have some fun painting. I love how they turned out. We also live about ten minutes from the beach and I thought spreading them around by the beach would be fun! I couldn’t find big rocks when I first looked so I decided to practice on some smaller ones. With larger rocks you can paint sayings on them as well. Spread them by the beach or around town with some kindness messages. I love the trend to spread kindness and kind messages to strangers. These were so easy for anyone to make and the end result is super pretty! read more

Easy Galaxy Rocks

Lately I have seen all kinds of pretty rocks people are decorating and spreading around town for others to find. It is also a relaxing activity to paint rocks. I used to paint and draw a lot but I haven’t had as much time to paint lately. I wanted to try out the whole fun rock painting craze and it was so fun! I didn’t find the best rocks at first for painting and these were my practice ones but I love love how they turned out. The best thing about these easy galaxy rocks is they look pretty and really anyone can make them. You can add messages on top as well with white or light blue paint. The key to making the galaxy is to have a variety of colors to add depth to the look of the rocks. They don’t have to look perfect and you can really make them your own way! read more

Tissue Paper Butterflies

Continuing with my butterlfy fun I have these adorable butterfly decorations. We just made these for at home for fun. I’m starting to decorate for spring and these were just an easy DIY decoration. If you get a pack of 24 sheets of tissue paper at the dollar store you can make 12 large tissue paper butterflies! They are just as easy as my Tissue Paper Fiesta Flowers, check those out too! You can make them both for spring flowers and butterflies, they go hand in hand. I chose bright fun colors for these but you can really do any colors you want. Butterflies come in so many different colors. We go to this place called butterfly wonderland that has a rain forest type room where the butterflies are flying all around. My daughter tries to get them to land on her but she mostly chases them away by running after them. She gets so excited if one lands on her, it is the cutest! She loves butterflies so much. She also wants a butterfly room for her bedroom and these are a cheap and easy decoration to have in her room. read more
