Tropical DIY Drink Koozies

Tropical Drink Koozies DIY

Continuing on with my brightening up winter week! Lets make winter bright with some diy tropical drink koozies. You can use these for year round but they are fun to use for winter to make sure your hands don’t freeze while enjoying a cool beverage. As a kid I loved all things tropical and beachy. I had a tropical themed Bat Mitzvah party. My parents were also known for doing luau styled parties. That is why I am loving all the tropical vibes parties. Flamingos and pineapples are some of my favorites. They are also right on trend. You can make these for everyday use, gifts and parties. Plus, these were super easy to make with the Spellbinders Platinum 6 and these tropical die collection. I’m going to decorate my desk all tropical with these dies. Flamingo pens are a must!

What you need to make these diy tropical drink koozies:

white or bright color foam paper

bright tropical color card stock paper

tropical dies

Spellbinders Platinum 6 or Prizm Machine

hot glue gun

add dies run dies through machine cut out shapes

Layer the dies and platforms according to the instructions. From bottom up platform, plate, paper, dies, and plate. Then run them through the machine.

cut foam paper into thirds cut out water shapes add glue to back and glue it on foam add die shapes

Take the foam paper and cut it into three even pieces. Cut blue paper out into water wavy shapes. Glue the blue paper to the middle bottom of the foam strip. Glue the die shapes on top with tacky or hot glue. Let the glue dry completely.

Wrap the foam piece around a beer bottle and let it slightly overlap. Remove it from the bottle and glue the edge together where it overlaps. Let it dry. If you do not know the size of the bottle or drink cups you will be wrapping it around you can guess. In that case try to make it slightly bigger and glue a foam piece on to the bottom either by tracing a circle inside and gluing it inside or taking a strip, folding up the edges and gluing those edges to the inside. This way a drink wont fall through if it is too big and you can fit different sized cups.
