Thanksgiving is the time to eat as much as your heart desires. Also to be thankful for all that food, friends, and family. My eyes are often bigger than my stomach and at a certain point I am just stuffed and can’t eat any more. Luckily for me there are always leftovers. My mom cooks enough to send everyone home with leftovers and then I can just live off of that meal for a week. It is that good I could eat it all week.I made these cute little turkey Thanksgiving leftovers bags. You can put food in plastic bags in these paper bags to take to go or small Tupperware. The printable tag says “I’m Stuffed…With Leftovers!”
I love Thanksgiving and all of the food. I don’t usually eat a ton of turkey but I love stuffing, mashed potatoes, and my favorite food mom’s meatballs. The meatballs aren’t a Thanksgiving thing they are a family recipe that my grandmother invented and hopefully one day I will learn how to master them. The whole meal is amazing and I am getting my fat pants ready. This is why I should have kept my maternity pants, those things were the best with the stretchy waist! I may have worn them for two years after my daughter was born because all jeans should have stretchy waists. Anyways I love all the foods but after the food I have to save room for some of all the pies. This year we will have apple, pumpkin, and pecan pie! Plus, chocolate chip pumpkin bars and chocolate cake. We have a lot of talented bakers in the family. I will be working on the pumpkin and pecan pie. I’ve only made these a few times but they are my favorites. Did you know there is a separate part of the stomach for dessert? That’s just a fact! There’s always room for pie. Pie is so amazing it deserves its own bar and printable so I had to make some pie bar printable. They look like pumpkin pies and turned out adorable. I also had to make some fun and silly signs. They say “Dibs On The Apple” “I’m Stuffed….Oooh Pie!” and “You Had Me At Pie”. These printables are so easy to put together last minute to make your pie serving area into a pie bar.
When it comes to Thanksgiving desserts I definitely always have to have some pie. It’s not my favorite dessert ever but it’s a Thanksgiving tradition. My daughter on the other hand will not touch pie unless maybe it is chocolate and has tons of whipped cream piled on top. I also add an excessive amount of whipped cream, it runs in the family. I wanted to make a simple Thanksgiving treat that my daughter would eat and could help make. These turkey chocolate pretzels were the perfect Thanksgiving treat for her! She helped with dipping the pretzels in the chocolate and putting on the faces. I like to make a fast dessert that doesn’t require a lot of patience to make. My 5 year old has more patience than some kids but that still is not a lot.
These printable coloring Thanksgiving hats are so cute, easy to make and a fun craft for kids at Thanksgiving. Kids can color in these printable hats on Thanksgiving. They are really cute for picture of kids too. I made a pilgrim hat, feathers, turkey and piece of pie. I had to cover all of the Thanksgiving fun! My daughter loved these coloring Thanksgiving hats. You can also decorate them with other craft supplies like tissue paper, stickers, paint, and pom poms.
What you need to make them:
I love Thanksgiving. All the family, all the food, how can you go wrong?! Kids don’t always have the patience to sit through a long meal. Sometimes they need a little extra entertainment and activities. These little Thanksgiving turkey activity bags are a fun and easy activity to entertain the kids. You can also use play doh or pom pom balls to build a turkey. I used what I had which was paper and they turned out so cute! These are also a fun nonfood Thanksgiving thing to give out to friends. The bags are easy to put together and easy for kids of different ages to make. My daughter is 5 and she had a blast with this activity.
Thanksgiving is a great time to get together with all of your crazy family. That is why I made these funny free Thanksgiving printable wine labels and food tents. I think all families are a little crazy in their own special way. I say that as a term of endearment! I made some wine labels to bring to your crazy family because Thanksgiving is a time to drink wine with the family that makes you drink. I also made some fun food labels. It seems like everyone is into some food trend of eating gluten free, low fat, and tofurkey(I just like to say tofurkey). Thanksgiving is a time to put those eating habits aside. Eat all the fat, gluten, sugar and turkey that your heart desires. It is also a time to eat mom, grandma, dad, or grandpa’s famous food that you have been waiting all year to eat. No one makes food quite like family I know my mom and grandma’s food are my absolute favorite things to eat, it’s comfort food and I can’t wait to eat all of the food on Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving isn’t always the most fun holiday for kids. Yes, you have family and food but kids need more excitement. Plus, at least my daughter isn’t a big fan of Thanksgiving food. I don’t blame her, I was a really picky eater as a kid and would mostly eat stuffing and pie. Ok maybe I still do that but I just gravitate towards the carbs and sugar. At least on Thanksgiving there are no rules when it comes to eating, just pile it on, no shame! This easy feed the turkey Thanksgiving game is great simple entertainment. Kids can play this indoors while adults are still dilly dallying with their meal. You can also bring it outside where it’s nice out. Adults and kids can play this game. I used candy to toss in the Turkeys mouth but you can use small balls or bean bags sort of like corn hole.
It is looking like fall y’all! Ok not outside but inside my place I am getting ready for fall. Who else is ready for fall?! I made these simple dollar store pumpkin centerpieces to celebrate the season. The bottom pumpkins were ugly as is and needed a bit of painting. I was really impressed with their selection of fake flowers. You could paint the pumpkin any color you want and use any color flowers. It just depends on your color preference. I like the idea of bright color pumpkins with white flower. This time around I decided to go with more fall type colors which is very unlike me. I tend to steer away from traditional but I’m happy I went with orange and copper! Love the shiny color on the pumpkin. The only thing I didn’t get from the dollar store is paint. Walmart, Target or Michael’s have a ton of paint colors for reasonable prices. For one centerpiece, even two you can buy a small paint bottle.

It doesn’t exactly feel like fall yet but I am ready for fall. That is why I need to start the fall crafts to at least pretend like fall is approaching. I live in Phoenix and we don’t really have a fall but I love all the fall pumpkin decorations. This diy pumpkin serving tray is made with dollar store materials and so easy to put together. It is perfect for serving food at a fall party or for Thanksgiving! You can also put fall scented candles on top or other fall decorations. It’s versatile and I just love how it turned out. The only thing I didn’t get at the dollar store is the paint. I used some copper paint I already had. Craft stores, Amazon, Target or Walmart have a variety of cheap shimmery paints. I love how the copper worked out because it blended well with the orange and I didn’t have to add too much paint.

If you’ve seen any of my Thanksgiving posts you know I can’t cook Thanksgiving food. I can make desserts and cute decorations that’s more my thing. This year I am making a side dish and even that intimidates me! I cannot tell you how many times I have ruined mashed potatoes. We are also doing Thanksgiving a little early to work with the families schedule so I really need to start figuring out what I can make. I did figure out how to make these cute turkey treat bags with free printable tags and that’s important too ;). These little turkey bags are really easy! You can stuff them with candy or non-candy options, whichever you prefer. Stickers, crayons or bubbles could be fun too. You can hand them out to kids in class. I think I will make some stuffed with fun little toys and crayons for the kids table at Thanksgiving. It is hard to get kids to sit through a big meal and activities always help :).
