Ice Cream Candy Cones

Who else is ready for an ice cream party? I love ice cream, not as much as my daughter who would have it for every meal but I do love it. I also think it makes for a cute party theme. Balloons work great for ice cream and ice cream decorations are adorable! I also think at ice cream parties you need some other sweet treat besides ice cream. That is why I made these adorable little ice cream candy treat cups. Fill them with colorful candy. It could be Sixlets like I did or other fun colored candy. I made printable cones. They are really tiny and cute for making individual candy portions. Put the candy in cellophane bags and top with red tissue paper for a cherry or even better red craft pom pom balls. I used tissue paper because that’s what I had. read more

Ice Cream Cupcakes

Ice Cream Cake Cupcakes

Ice Cream Cupcakes

My birthday is in the middle of summer. As a kid the middle of summer in Phoenix is about 115 degrees. That meant for my birthday parties we always had pool parties. It also meant lots of ice cream. I think because of that my favorite cake has always been ice cream cake. I was never a big cake eater. For some reason I didn’t love cake. As an adult my tastes have expanded and now bring on the cake! Even though I didn’t love cake if you put some ice cream on cake I loved it. My daughter also is obsessed with ice cream! She is so funny she still is putting Christmas sprinkles on her ice cream because I bought an excessive amount of them. She will be celebrating Christmas in July with her Christmas sprinkles. I don’t make cakes very often but I love making cupcakes. That is why I made these fun ice cream cake cupcakes. They have all of the fun elements of an ice cream cake in a cupcake size. read more

Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches

Oreo Icea Cream Sandwiches are the perfect little tasty crunchy cookie filled with creamy ice cream!

Ice cream is one of my favorite desserts. In the summer it is number one on my list! This is the time of year to indulge in sweet treats. Swimsuit season is halfway over go crazy ;)! These are perfect little bites to serve for a group or just to make with kids. You can eat just one and not feel too bad because it is smaller than a normal ice cream sandwich. I loved how the Oreo ice cream sandwiches turned out and will definitely be making them again. They were really easy to make but they did take longer to make than to eat. That is my problem with desserts they seem to just disappear. read more

Melted Ice Cream Cake Pops!

Melted Ice Cream Cake Pops - Val Event Gal

What better to make in the middle of summer than melted ice cream cake pops! Everything melts here in Arizona if it is left out for more than 5 seconds. With all of my ice cream party fun this week a lot of melting is going on. I accidentally left a mini chocolate in my purse the other day. Most people carry chocolate with them at all times right?! It was melted all over everything in my purse after being outside for just half an hour. Nothing like the feeling of reaching in your purse to come out with a melted chocolate fingers. read more

I thought that was cause for a celebration and this entire week is ice cream week on my blog, woohoo! You can check out my other ice cream posts for Pizookie Pops: https://simplecraftyfun.com/2015/07/pizookie-pops/ and Donut Ice Cream Sandwiches: https://simplecraftyfun.com/2015/07/donut-ice-cream-sandwich/. I am having a lot of fun with ice cream and celebrating this national holiday to the fullest. I wonder who gets to determine what day is ice cream day and all the other fun made up days. That sounds like an amazing job, where can I sign up?! My daughter likes to decide when it’s ice cream day too. She will wake up and say today is ice cream day, I want ice cream. Then I will say it is 6 in the morning and I am pretty sure it is banana day that’s what my calendar says. Then we go back and forth finally settling on Cheerios. This is a common occurrence in my house. She is persistent, I will give her that and she knows it’s best to ask before I have had my coffee. Needless to say she has loved all of the ice cream fun we have been having this week. I am on her good side for now. read more
