Unicorn Cupcakes with colorful hair - Val Event Gal

Woohoo it is unicorn week! I have been seeing so many cute unicorns around lately. My daughter is big into unicorns and my little ponies. It works out great because unicorns seem to be trendy right now. I personally am naturally drawn to bright colorful things and unicorns fit right into that. How can you not be happy when you see a colorful unicorn? If they don’t bring a smile to your face you might be dead inside. If only they were real! Since I can’t have a real unicorn I will stick to making unicorn cupcakes and decorations ;). These unicorn cupcakes are so adorable, I just love how they turned out! They are sleepy dreaming unicorns.

What you need to make them:

Cupcakes

White frosting

ice cream cones

Fruit punch Twizzlers pull n peel

Colorful frosting

white candy melts

For the horn take an ice cream cone and cut off the bottom leaving the top 2 inches. If you can find mini cones even better, then you don’t need to cut them down! Spray them with gold food spray(optional).

I dipped the frosted cupcakes in sanding sugar to give them extra sparkle but it is not necessary. Put the the cone horn on the top in the middle. Take a Twizzlers Pull n Peel and peel it apart so there are the three different colors together. Cut off a 1 inch piece and put it on one side of the horn. Take another piece about 3 inches long and put it on the other side of the cone. You can put extra frosting underneath it to make sure it stays.

I used pink sparkly writing icing to draw on the face. You can use any color you want. First draw on the eyes. Make small downward half circles with three lines evenly spread out downward. I used a white candy melt for the nose. Cut off a small sliver of each side and the top. Draw two dots or small lines on the bottom.

Have you ever seen such a cute unicorn cupcake?! I am just loving them. I also have more unicorn fun coming up throughout the week!
