This one is a cute birthday cake. I love this design for young kids in preschool through 2nd grade. Older kids can wear it too but I think the younger kids especially love the birthday cake hat!

These free printable hats are super cute for kids in a classroom setting to wear on their birthday. It has a rounded top making is somewhere in between a hat and crown. These are simple to cut out. One is a coloring version and the other is colored in.

The next design is for printable birthday party hats is more of a cone shape. These work great for a group to decorate and make their own party hats. They can also already be assembled for party guests to just wear. The design is flat but it can be made into a cute hat.

Using the Free Printables

To use the printables click on the CLICK HERE writing above the image of the printable you wish to use. This will take you to the pdf file, this will need a pdf reader such as adobe to open the file. Then download the digital file on to your computer. Print the printable on your home printer or at a local print shop. White card stock paper or colorful cardstock paper in a 11×8.5″ size are best for printing. You can print on white printer paper then trace the templates on constructions, scrapbook, or other fun paper.

Supplies

Free pdf file for personal use not commercial use. However, feel free to print out many times.

White card stock paper or printer paper. Cardstock is bit sturdier for lasting longer and making a solid hat.

String or ribbon

Hole punch

Tape, clear packaging tape works great for attaching the pieces. You can also use a hot glue gun or staples.

Scissors

Crayons, markers, or colored pencils

Optional craft supplies to add include pom poms, pipe cleaners, and glitter

Making amPrintable Party Hat

1. Download the free hat template.

2. Print the hats out on a home printer or at a print shop. I like to print on white card stock paper. You can even use colorful card stock paper in a letter-sized sheet of 11×8.5″.

3. If you are coloring the hats they can be colored right on the printed out sheet of paper.

4. Next you will want to cut out the template with scissors.

5. Fold on the dotted line this part will go on the inside of the hat for the cone shape hat. Tape the extra piece inside the hat wrapping it into a cone shape. Then add a piece of tape to the outside of the hat. An adult can also use a glue gun or staples to keep the hat together.

6. Punch a hole on the left and right side of the hat. Then attach a ribbon or string.

7. For the crown template you will cut out the main piece and extra strips. Then tape or glue one strip on the right side of the main piece and one strip on the left side.

8. Measure around the back of a kids head to make sure the crown is big enough then tape the back together.
