How to Use the Printables
It is super easy to use the printable cards in a few steps.
First thing you will pick the card you want to use then click on the CLICK HERE writing above the card. This will take you to the digital download. Then download the pdf file, you will need a pdf reader to open the file. These files are for personal use, non-commercial use but can be printed out multiple times.
Print the card at a local print shop or on your home printer. White or colorful cardstock paper in 8.5×11″ size is the best to print on for cards because it is a thicker paper. That way when you add paint it wont rip.
At the end of this post I will add step-by-step instructions for making the cards with the paint.

Making The Cards
Supplies
White cardstock paper, colorful cardstock paper, or construction paper
Paint- washable paint, tempura paint, or acrylic paint
Baby wipes or wet paper towels(to wipe off paint)
Optional- googly eyes, cupcake liners, pipe cleaner, tissue paper, pom poms, toilet paper rolls, or other craft supplies
Make a Card
There are a few ways to make the cute craft card and a few different bugs to make.
First print out the free printable template. Print on cardstock paper for a sturdy card. You can also use white printer paper it just might rip easily. If you want to use construction paper that is another option to at least trace on construction paper or print on construction paper if your printer prints ok with construction paper.
Once you have printed out the cards cut out the cards for the smaller size. For the larger size you can cut out the outline or leave it on the sheet of paper.
Get the paint ready on a plate, paint palette, or use an egg carton for a paint holder.
Dip a kids thumb or finger in to the paint.
Then press it firmly on the paper trying not to move it much.
Repeat the process for multiple bugs or to add wings. You can make small hearts for lady bugs or put them all in a row for a caterpillar.
When you are changing colors or are done with the paint wipe kids hands off with a wipe and then wash them at the end. Especially with young kids I like to have a wipe handy because paint can get all over. I like to use different colors for the body of the bug and the wings.
You can use other materials too to make the bugs such as cupcake liners for wings and toilet paper rolls for a paint stamp. Then add some googley eyes on top. If a child is small the child’s handprints can make the body or wings of a bug. For older kids they might enjoy adding more craft supplies to make the card more detailed.
This adorable Mother’s Day card is perfect for mom or another family member such as grandma. It is a great keepsake and kids of all ages can make them. Plus, it is so easy to make at home with the printable Mother’s Day cards. It is the perfect way for kids to show they care on Mother’s Day.
I hope you enjoyed the fingerprint love bug cards for a fun Mother’s Day card of even for special occasion card for mom.
