Free Printable Crab Template

Summer time is a great time to make a crab craft with this free printable crab craft template. Just print it out and kids will love crafting with these little crabs. This craft template is a pdf file, for personal use, so you will need a pdf reader.

Where I used to live there are white crabs and they are the cutest crabs! They are called ghost crabs and they blend in with the sand. My kids loved searching for the crabs. It is sort of like a beach scavenger hunt looking for crabs.

Young kids and kids of all ages will love this cute crab craft on its own or as part of a summer ocean theme crafting week. It is the perfect summer activity. Make crabs, sandcastles, jellyfish, fish, and dolphins! There are so many amazing sea creatures. I have some other ocean animal printables planned for summer.

When kids are home from school in the summer it’s good to have some crafting ideas to entertain them. You can print out some templates for kids and leave out supplies for them to use them however they want or have a set craft idea. I love having themes and ocean animals are perfect for summer. Other summer crafting themes include mermaids, pirates, summer fruit, pool party, and tropical theme. I also have a sandcastle template and pineapple template for summer themed crafts.

What skills does this craft work on?

Fine motor skills. Young kids need plenty of practice with fine motor skills. Crafting works on those skills and kids have fun in the process. Cutting with kid safe scissors, gluing, and coloring help little hands with fine motor skills.

Hand-eye coordination. Gluing small pieces together like the crabs legs work on hand eye coordination.

Following directions. Following the steps in the directions help kids in a class setting.

Learning about the ocean and the beach. Teach kids about sea creatures such as crabs, the sea turtle, and octopus. Then ready books about the ocean. Learning and fun!

Learning letters for young learners. This can be a great letter C is for Crab fun activity.

How can you use this fun crab craft?

Use it for a coloring sheet. Crab coloring pages are so cute for summer coloring.

Cut the pieces and glue them together with the colored in crab. You can also use the blank template with pieces to trace on red construction paper. Then make a crab with googly eyes and pipe cleaners as well.

Color, cut, and glue the crab together with the free printable crab coloring page.

Put the crab on the sandcastle to make a little beach crab.

Add tissue paper, pipe cleaner, or craft pom poms for fun decorations for the craft.
