Diy Galaxy Ornaments

I love making galaxy art. It always looks so pretty and is really easy to make. I made galaxy rocks that are really fun to make with kids. You can hide them in fun places for people to find or keep them for decorations. The galaxy rocks were my inspiration for this craft. These galaxy ornaments are not only super fun to make but they look so cool! This technique I used with my marble ornaments just added a galaxy flair. The perfect craft for kids or adults. They all turn out a little bit different. If you add more of one color they can be more of a colorful galaxy. read more

Penguin Games

My daughter loves penguins more than any other animal in the world. For homeschool we did a whole unit study on penguins. I know a lot about penguins at this point. We also have done some fun crafts and made penguin treats. I have a bunch of those on the blog that you can check out. At the end of our penguin unit we did a fun day of winter penguin games including penguin ice hockey, marshmallow penguin soccer, sledding, and smash the ice. Some of the games I was planning on using sugar cubes but I just used what we had that was marshmallows and lucky charms. My daughter liked the lucky charms idea. Of course winter penguin games have to include some icy fun. Penguins love the ice and snow. These games are really easy for kids to play. read more

Penguin Plate Craft

My daughter is obsessed with penguins. She has a bed full of penguin stuffed animals. We did a whole school unit study about penguins. I know everything there is to know about penguins! I get why she is obsessed with penguins because they are just the cutest animals ever. We also have made a bunch of penguin crafts and treats over the years. My all time favorite one I’ve made is walking penguin donuts. Check them out to make as well as these penguin plate crafts. The funny thing is we have only lived in warm weather. I get cold when there is a slight chill in the air and bundle up under blankets. My girl is part penguin but I am a wimp with the cold. I love visiting the snow but I don’t know if I’m cut out for visiting the penguins. I’m sure she will one day visit the penguins but I will just stick to penguin crafts and treats.  read more

Melted Snowman Plate Craft

If there were snow around here it would be melted. I live in Florida and we don’t get snow around here. That is why I decided to make some melted snowman crafts because I only know melted snow. Plus, they remind me of Olaf melting in summer and I love that character! This is such a simple craft for kids of many ages to do. I won’t be doing it with the littlest one because he would be eating the fake snow but it was a fun one to do with my daughter.

Materials:

Blue paper plate, you can also color a white plate blue read more

Ice Princess Pipe Cleaner Crown

My daughter was obsessed with Frozen for the longest time. She was I think 3 when she first saw it. We watched it about a bazillion times and I have those songs from the movie burned into my memory. Luckily the music is good. She dressed up like Elsa and Anna for the longest time. Not just special occasions but going to the grocery store she was dressed up in costume. The funny thing is now she isn’t as into the girly stuff. She used to want an Elsa braid every day, for me that was just a side braid because I can’t make any braids. Now she never wants to wear her hair up. They grow up so fast! At that time I also started makin snowflake wands for parties. I have a post for those pretty wands. They go perfectly with these ice princess pipe cleaner crowns. We made different pipe cleaner crowns that my daughter loved and decided to make some for an ice princess. It is a perfect little winter craft for cold days.  read more

Diy marble ornament

I love the marble trend trend and ornaments are the most fun to marble! There are different ways to marble but this technique is easy and fun to do with kids. This one I made solo but my daughter joined me for galaxy ornament decorating. The key with these diy marble ornaments is to have at least 3 colors. I would say 3-4 colors are best. Also to make sure it is rotated enough to cover the clear spots. I could see these being fun for a girls night with friends or play date with kids. Also, as a diy craft for a Christmas party. read more

Starfish Snowflake Ornament

Since we put up our Christmas tree early I got really inspired to make some ornaments. What I love about ornaments is you really can never have too many! The tree has plenty of room. It also is a great way to remember what your family was doing or into during a certain time period. Kids can decorate ornaments and each your you build on your collection of kids creations. I also like to make a few myself like this snowflake starfish ornament. We love by the beach and have beaches decor and I wanted to make a few ornaments to match our home. I’m not doing a whole theme for the tree because I grew up with a collective mix of ornaments and I want to continue that tradition. Next year maybe I will theme out a mini tree just for my own enjoyment! For now I let my daughter have free range of the tree. We have some Mardi Gras beads on there and random groupings of ornaments. It’s nice to have a few of my own little creations like this starfish snowflake ornament and then my daughter helped make a few others. Kids can easily help make this ornament. They could add extra colors for fun! read more

Snow Christmas Games

Build a snowman printable I live in Florida where we don’t get any real snow. That is why we need some snow Christmas games to bring on the snow fun without having the real thing! Whether you live in the snow or not this winter you can have some snow fun with these easy snow game ideas. There should be something for all ages including the adults. I find that adults like the chance to act like a kid and play games with the family. From snow balls to snowmen I got you covered. There are a few simple printable games and some involving marshmallow snow, yummy. 1. Snowball toss! Put a small amount of marshmallows in cups, use about 8-10 cups per side. Line them up or put them in a pyramid shape. Two teams stand on opposite sides of a table and have to throw snowball marshmallows into the cups on the opposite side. Each marshmallow that makes it into a cup gets taken out of the game until they are all gone. The opposite team has to eat the marshmallows in the cups as they go. You can also have a time game to see who gets the most marshmallows in a cup or a couple cups in a minute! Dress up the cups as little snowmen like the ones above. This can easily be done with just drawing sharpie snowman faces. Catching snowballs in Santa Hat Santa Hat Snowball Christmas Game 2. Snowball Santa hat game. Try to get the snow balls in the Santa hat. It’s so easy and the Santa hat holder can stand close or far depending on the age of the thrower. Cotton ball balls or ping pongs work for this game. See how many balls get in the hat in a minute. 3. Snow ball fight! Battle it out with cotton ball or sock “snow balls”. Easy and fun game there don’t have to be winners or losers. When you don’t have real snow fake snowballs work too for a snowball battle! The key is to get a bunch of fake snowballs so the game can go on for a while. 4. Eating snow! Put a pile of whipped cream on a plate. Each contestant has to eat all the snow on the plate without using their hands. Whoever finishes first wins. 5. Build a snowman game. Use dice to roll the right numbers and build a snowman. Whoever builds theirs first wins. Get the printable snowman game CLICK HERE!! 6. Get the ball in the snowman’s belly to get points. Three tries per person. You can cut out the button holes and toss ping pong balls through the holes. Just back the snowman with cardboard, cut out the holes, and prop it up with more cardboard! It is not too large so propping it up should be easy. This one comes with a bonus reindeer ring toss game. Get rings or make easy pipe cleaner rings around the reindeers antlers to win the game. Three rings per person, per try. Get the printable CLICK HERE!  7. Snowman frisbee. Get a paper plate and draw a snowman face, see who can throw their plate frisbee the farthest. SImple as that! There you go some simple and fun snow games to play at Christmas or on winter break! Snow Christmas Games
