If you are looking for a super simple Halloween craft to do with kids look no further. This free printable build a witch craft is perfect for kids of all ages. All you have to do is print, color, cut, and put the witch together. Easy peasy kids craft for a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit!

This fun craft is great for working on fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, and pencil grip. That makes it a great craft project for young kids. Older kids can add it to a witch broom drawing or make a spooky Halloween painting for the background.

Use this craft in a classroom, at a Halloween party, or at home to get in the spooky spirit. For younger kids you can provide some assistance with cutting, but overall it is an easy craft for kids of all ages.

Pick the free template you want to use or use them all. There is an option for coloring and a color option.

First is the build a witch in color. This free witch template is a cute and friendly looking witch.

Next is a coloring option. This witch is the same as the last one but kids can pick their own colors to use with this option. Make a purple, pink, or green witch! It is fun to let kids use their creativity to make their own witch. They can also try to match the colors of the colorful witch example on the sheet.

There is also a large size option for pieces of the witch’s face to use for a paper plate witch craft. You can also trace the pieces of the printable craft on construction paper. Use strips of orange or purple paper for the hair.

Printing the Witch Template

 

The free printable can be accessed by clicking on the image of the witch or the title of the witch printable above the image. You don’t need to leave any personal information just click on the image to get the pdf printable. You will need a pdf reader to open the pdf document digital download. These files are for personal use, non-commercial use, but feel free to print them out a bunch of times for a group of kids. You can use both printable templates. Once it is opened click the download button to download it to your computer or device. Then print it out on your home printer or at a local print shop. It is meant for 8.5×11″ paper. You can print on printer paper or white card stock paper.

 

Materials

 

White cardstock or white paper for printers

Optional: colorful green paper, black paper, orange paper, or purple paper

Scissors

Glue stick, Elmers white glue, or tape

Crayons, markers, or colored pencils

Optional popsicle stick

 

How to Build A Witch

 

1. First download and print out the free printable template on white printer paper or white cardstock paper.

2. If you are using the coloring option kids can color it in directly on the sheet of paper with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

3. Cut out the individual pieces of the witch. For younger kids assist them with this step.

4. Get a piece of paper to glue the pieces together on. A colorful piece of paper such as orange, purple, or pink works great. Kids can also decorate a background for the witch by painting or coloring on a pieces of paper for the night sky or a Halloween background

5. You can also use the pieces to trace on colorful paper such as green or purple. Older kids can draw their own witch on the pieces of paper.

6. Cut out the witch pieces around the outline of each piece and set them aside.

7. Glue the piece together or on to a piece of paper with a glue stick or white glue. Start with the main body piece. Then glue the head on top. Then the arms on the sides of the body. Then the legs behind the bottom of the main body piece.

8. Make a broom to go with the witch or put the printable on a popsicle stick to make a Halloween puppet.

 

Use these witches for witch puppets, to decorate a classroom door. for free Halloween coloring pages, for Halloween pretend play, or add the witches to a Halloween sensory bin.

For a witch puppet you can just glue the witch to a popsicle stick. Another option is to punch holes in the connecting pieces and put brads through the pieces to make moveable arms and legs.
