Free Printable Seashell Templates

It’s summer time and that means heading to the beach to collect seashells! Well that’s what I would like to be doing, but this year I’m stuck in the desert. So instead of real seashells I will be using these simple seashell craft templates to make some easy crafts.

There are a variety of seashell shapes and sizes to choose from for different types of crafts. Use these shell templates for coloring, painting, decorations, or paper crafts. Get creative and come up with your own super cool original crafts. Kids love to get creative and templates help give them a starting off point for making crafts.

Templates make for easy peasy crafting. I used these templates for a floating chalk print craft that you should for sure check out along with more chalk craft fun.

Printing the templates:

First you will want to download the pdf file by clicking on the title of the template you want to use. This will take to the free download. Download it to your computer or device. Now it’s time to print. Use white cardstock, colorful cardstock, or printer paper to print the templates.

You can cut out the templates and trace them on construction paper. Staple multiple sheets of paper together for an easy way to cut out multiple shells.

The scalloped shell is a popular shell type. It’s pretty and simple. I’ve included shells with and without designs. That way if you want to design your own shell with patterns you can.

Next up is the auger shell. This one reminds me of a unicorn horn. It’s a fun curly shell.

This shell template is another swirly one. The wentletrap shell. This comes with the shell outline as well as the detailed shell.

One of my personal favorites the conch shell. Watch out for critters in these shells!

Next up we have a couple starfish. Ok these aren’t shells but they go well with the shells for crafts. There are skinny starfish and a more round starfish. I like the round ones for making starfish wands.

Ways to use the Seashell Templates

If you need some ideas for ways to use these printable seashell craft templates here are a few easy ideas:

Add colorful tissue paper with glue.
Bleeding tissue paper craft. Place bleeding tissue paper on the template. Then spray with water. Once it dries remove the tissue paper to reveal a colorful seashell.
Floating chalk prints.
Seashell or starfish wands. Use cardstock paper or construction paper. Add glitter glue, glitter(if you are brave), pom poms, color with crayons, or markers.
Make a seashell paper plate wreath crafts. Cut out the middle of the paper plate, paint or color the plate. Color the shells then glue them on to the paper plate.
Design your own shell. Use the blank templates as a blank slate to make your own shell. Add patterns, paint with watercolor paints, or color the shell.
Paper plate seashell craft. Make shells that open and close with paper plates! Trace the template on a paper plate. You can paint the shells or color them in. Add a cottonball in the middle of the shell as a pearl.
