Dreidel Marshmallow Pops

We are now on the third night of Chanukah! Which means dreidel marshmallow pops! It is hard to get ready for Chanukah when it comes so soon after Thanksgiving. That is why we need some easy things to make to celebrate. I leave the latkes up to others to make but I am really good at eating them, not to brag ;).This year we already did some Chanukah crafts and made a Chanukah house. The Chanukah house was like a gingerbread house with yellow and blue decorations. Manichewitz makes the Chanukah house because when the house falls down mama might need a little wine. I wish there was more of a selection of Chanukah items in the stores and ideas. The section is usually about a foot wide sandwiched in between the Christmas stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas decorations but Chanukah could use a little love too! My mom is always creative and resourceful when it comes to Chanukah ideas. I get my love of holidays from her.

I love gelt but I had to make something too and these dreidel marshmallow pops are an easy addition to your Chanukah desserts!

What you need to make them:

marshmallows

pretzel sticks

Hershey Kisses

blue candy melts

Break a pretzel stick in half and push the half a pretzel into the marshmallow. Melt candy melts according to the package. On the other end spread a small amount of candy melts on with a spoon. Press a Hershey Kiss firmly in place then lay it down to dry. Make sure the candy melts are completely dry before the next step.

Dip the marshmallow into the candy melts and very gently shake off extra candy melts. Make sure to be gentle with this step and cover the marshmallow on the top and sides. I used a spoon to help get it on the top part. You can see what a mess we made. My daughter was helping out so I gave her a few to dip. She made a mess dipping them and then tried to see if they would spin while the candy melts were still wet. This is why we can’t have nice things! We had a ton of fun and Keira really loved spinning them and making Jackson Pollock type art ;).

Once the candy melts dry write on with writing icing or candy melts some of the Hebrew  dreidel letters. They really are cute and I highly recommend making them with kids for a fun Chanukah activity!  They kind of spin too, okay only for about a second but it counts.
