I love cake pops. Once I discovered the cute things you could make on a pop I was obsessed. The problem with cake pops is the time it takes to make them. You have to make the cake, roll the pops, refrigerate them, dip them and decorate. Yes, the results are worth it but they just take a long, long time! I have tried cake pop makers they just turned out too dry. Using donut holes to make pops is a great alternative because they taste great(uh, duh donuts) and you can still decorate them and make them cute for any occasion! These ridiculously easy chocolate covered donut pops are amazing and ridiculously delicious!
What better to make in the middle of summer than melted ice cream cake pops! Everything melts here in Arizona if it is left out for more than 5 seconds. With all of my ice cream party fun this week a lot of melting is going on. I accidentally left a mini chocolate in my purse the other day. Most people carry chocolate with them at all times right?! It was melted all over everything in my purse after being outside for just half an hour. Nothing like the feeling of reaching in your purse to come out with a melted chocolate fingers.
Earth Day is coming up soon! In the past I haven’t really done much for this day. The last couple of years my daughter Keira was too young to really get into it. This year though we have some fun things planned. We are going to plant some fruits and vegetables at my parents house. We live in an apartment and despite my best efforts I can’t keep plants alive. It is better for the Earth if I don’t personally own plants. I am also setting up an easy recycling activity with items laid out to recycle and Keira can put them in the pretty recycle bin. I know one of the best ways to get Keira’s attention is with something yummy or a fun crafts. Like mother like daughter. I made these Earth cake pops for a party but they are perfect for Earth Day.
