Flamingo Chocolate Pops

I love flamingos! They are so fun for summer. Since the invention of flamingo pool floats and flamingo drink floats they have become a summer staple. I could not be happier about that. They are just so pretty for celebrations! I love all things pink so bring on the pink flamingos! I made these adorable flamingo chocolate pops that were really easy to make. All you need are candy melts and some gold or pink pipe cleaners for the legs. I am working on my video skills so I did a video for how to make these but I can also walk you through the steps. read more

Modelo and Corona with Taco Cookies.jpg

Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite holidays. I grew up in Phoenix and we always have a big celebration for Cinco de Mayo. It is the perfect time of year to be outside by the pool. We have a pool party celebration with lots of food, of course beer, family, and friends. I love Mexican beer! Corona Extra was the first beer I ever tried and I immediately loved the clean, crisp taste. I also love the rich, refreshing flavor of Modelo Especial. It is a family favorite. For our Cinco de Mayo celebration everyone brings Mexican dishes to indulge in. Usually I am in charge of desserts. I am an expert at eating Mexican dishes but not at making them. Desserts are my favorite to make for all occasions. I love desserts that look like savory foods and that is why I thought it would be the perfect time to make cookies that look like little tacos. In the past I have made cupcakes that look like hot dogs and cookies that look like pizza. Now it’s time to tackle taco cookies! They add some extra fun to the dessert table! These have all the elements of a real taco in sweet dessert form. They also pair very well with Modelo Especial and Corona Extra. The flavors of these beers taste amazing with a little sweet bite. I don’t know about you but I need a little sweetness to balance out all of the spice from a Cinco de Mayo meal. My dad makes his specialty spicy shrimp that come with a warning label because of the heat level. Not everyone can handle the heat. I usually can have one before my mouth is on fire! read more

Football Field Cupcake Cake

Football Field Cupcake Cake

The super bowl is right around the corner! That means time to bring out all the cute football party desserts and food. This easy football field cupcake cake is perfect for a football party. I made a couple mini cupcake cakes but you can do one lager one too! It’s the same process you would just use a whole batch of cupcakes for a larger football field cupcake cake. Mini ones are fun and you can spread them out at a party or on a dessert table. I love Super Bowl parties mainly for all of the food that people make. I can make little appetizers but usually I am on the dessert making team! These cupcakes are really easy to make and I put little M&Ms as players on the field! I thought that was a cute touch. I only wrote out a few of the field numbers because there wasn’t space for more, plus it’s easier that way. I will also share my secret for filling in the gaps of cupcakes when making a cupcake cake! read more

Pink Princess Candy Bark

Pretty pink chocolate bark

In our house there is a lot of pink! It’s just me and my daughter, which means girl time all the time. Ok she’s not just into the girl stuff she also is obsessed with Star Wars. Dresses, pink, and Star Wars, they go together in our house. We also love princesses and dress up. Really pink candy can be used for anything girl. For kids and adults, I know a few adults that still love their pink princesses! We made this simple pink princess candy bark that anyone can make. It was half me and half my daughter and she is five. You may be able to tell what parts are her because of the excessive amount of sprinkles but it all looks so pretty. There just aren’t enough pink desserts out there. We had to change that. read more

Ice cream is one of my favorite desserts. In the summer it is number one on my list! This is the time of year to indulge in sweet treats. Swimsuit season is halfway over go crazy ;)! These are perfect little bites to serve for a group or just to make with kids. You can eat just one and not feel too bad because it is smaller than a normal ice cream sandwich. I loved how the Oreo ice cream sandwiches turned out and will definitely be making them again. They were really easy to make but they did take longer to make than to eat. That is my problem with desserts they seem to just disappear. read more

dessert fruit kabobs

White Chocolate Covered Fruit Kabobs

White Chocolate Covered Fruit Kabobs

For summer I love having desserts with fruit in them. I also like a simple dessert. These white chocolate covered fruit kabobs with rainbow sprinkles are perfect for a simple refreshing dessert! I chose rainbow colored fruits to give a pop of color. I also didn’t put all the kinds of fruit on one kabob because some people like different fruits. You could do a bunch of combinations of fruit too to give variety. I like them separated and how they look all lined up by color. I also toyed around with the idea of colorful candy melts for the chocolate drizzle but decided white chocolate with colorful sprinkles would look good. If you have a theme and a certain color you want to use you can add a colorful chocolate drizzle! I was thinking of orange, pink or another bright color. I also think colorful sprinkles are a nice touch for parties! read more
