Spring is my favorite and least favorite time of year all wrapped into one. I love it because, where I live in Phoenix, the weather is perfect! The flowers bloom and we get fields of beautiful yellow flowers. It is also the best time to get outside before the dreaded heat takes over. However, when the beautiful flowers start to bloom so do my allergies. All I want to do is be outside all the time, but my allergies say nope, no way, not going to happen. Do other people have talking allergies or is it just me? Since early adulthood I have experienced seasonal allergies. Unfortunately my allergies affect my ability to enjoy those beautiful flowers and the outdoors during spring. My daughter cannot stay inside when it’s nice out and I do my best to just deal with my constant runny nose. read more

Free Printable Fiesta Placemat

Who’s ready for a fiesta?! I know it’s not quite Cinco De Mayo, but in my opinion fiestas can happen any time of year. I love Mexican food and a colorful party! I think spring is a good time to start the fiestas and keep them going through the summer. It is the best time of year in Phoenix to get outdoors and entertain before it is too hot. Although I love a good pool party too! If you’ve visited my blog you know I also can’t get enough of bright colors. That makes a fiesta the perfect fit. I am doing more Cinco De Mayo posts than Mother’s Day this year because I am in a colorful mood. Don’t worry I will also have some Mother’s Day fun as well! Last year I made these Fiesta Flowers that have been a huge hit and are really easy to make! They would look adorable with these placemats. This week is full of fun and colorful Mexican blanket printables! Just attach some yarn to the ends to make it feel like a real Mexican Blanket! DIY Butterfly Headband

My daughter loves butterflies. She has a few butterfly dresses and they needed a cute headband to match them. This was an easy headband to make. We used card stock paper but you could also use felt. Then we added a little glitter glue to give it some more sparkle. She loves this new headband. She had a bunch of plain headbands that she never wears and I thought they could use a little makeover. This is a crazy easy diy butterfly headband. I love that it looks like a little butterfly is resting on top of her head. read more

Butterfly Confetti

This week we are all about the butterflies! It feels like spring and the butterflies are out and about. We love butterflies and my daughter has loved the butterfly projects. She really likes this one because she got to throw something and make a mess. I’m not sure if you can tell from the picture above but that is butterfly confetti. You can really tell in person and when it is “flying” around it looks really cool. It is easy to make confetti with tissue paper and this butterfly confetti is simple to make for fun or butterfly parties. I went to a wedding that had a butterfly theme and they had butterfly confetti. I thought it was really cool and would make a fun project to make at home. You can buy it I’m sure but why buy when you can easily DIY, right?! read more

Beauty and the Beast Inspired Rose Centerpieces

One of the most memorable parts of Beauty and the Beast is the rose under the glass. It also makes for such a pretty party decoration. When I was a kid and I went to Disneyland I picked out a little glass Beauty and the Beast rose as my souvenir. That is how much I love it! I was recently looking for that souvenir but I guess it got lost with my moves since childhood. I did find a couple Beauty and the Beast glass figures from Disneyland that my mom had held on to. She’s better at keeping things in one piece than I am. These decorations are fun to make just because, for parties, or Beauty and the Beast inspired tea parties. I used just a few dollar store materials to make these. Anyone can make these Beauty and The Beast centerpieces inspired by the movie. read more

Paper Flower Hoop Wreath

It’s already starting to feel like spring here in Phoenix! It is really the best time of year to be outside here. The nice weather made me want to do some outside crafting and make flower crafts. I don’t usually make wreaths but I think I’m going to start making some for every season. This hoop wreath is easy to make and could be fun for indoors to hang on a door or just up on a wall. I just love the things you can make with paper and anyone with any crafting skill level could make this paper flower hoop wreath.
