This cactus craft is easy for kids to put together. All you need is the digital files for the free printable cactus template, scissors, glue and a printer. Cacti come in a variety of shapes and sizes. That is why I made a few different options of cacti templates for kids to put together or mix and match.

Just get the downloadable files to print out at home or at a local printer. You can use the print and cut file to just print it and put it together. There is also an outline free cactus template to use in creative ways, such as with paint.

This craft is ideal for preschoolers at home or in a class setting. It has small pieces that are easy to assemble together even for little hands. It is a great way to work on fine motor skills.

What materials do you need?

 

All you need is the printable that you can print out on a home printer or at a local print shop, card stock paper is the best paper to use to make a sturdy cactus, and some type of glue such as a glue stick. You can use construction paper for different colored paper to decorate yourself as you choose. Another way to use this printable is the coloring option to color it in, then cut, and paste! It is such an easy craft for small kids with short attention spans. Kids can also put their own personality and style into their cactus craft creation!

Lets make a fun cactus craft!

1. First you will need to print out the cactus template of your choice on your home printer or at a print shop.
2. Next cut out the cactus pieces. If you are using construction paper trace the pieces on the different colored construction paper. Brown for the pot, green for the cacti, and red for the flowers.
3. Use a glue stick to glue the pot piece on to the bottom of the cactus.
4. Glue the arms on to the back of the main part of the cactus. To make funny cactus mix and match the pieces or let kids figure out which pieces go to which cactus.
5. If you want to you can paint a desert background to add to the template or make one with paper.

You can also add pipe cleaners for spikes or tissue paper for flowers to add dimension. There are many fun ways to use this cactus template for crafts with kids.
