My friend Jessica’s baby shower is coming up and we are planning a beach themed baby shower! Since we live close to the beach every baby is going to be a beach baby! Kids really love the ocean and the beach. Not to mention mama loves the beach. It’s important to give a gift that fits with the mom’s interests. She said she can’t wait to bring the baby to the beach with her! I remember when my daughter was a baby how fun it was to have beach days and how much she loved the water. I can’t wait for Jessica to have that experience with her first baby! After the beach a nice long bath is necessary. She needs the best products to keep baby safe and clean! It also helps to have bath products that make you feel like you are still at the beach with cute ocean designs. Beach themed bathrooms are the cutest, water and the beach are a match made in heaven. With a beach baby shower I needed to make a beach themed gift. I made this adorable beach bucket gift basket for her. The new stylish J&J Baby Design Wrap products worked perfect in the gift basket with their modern ocean animals design. I  was inspired to make little turtle and octopus wash cloths to match with the baby bath products. They are really easy to make and the cutest! I got the fun new J&J Baby Designer Wrap products found exclusively at Target. Any excuse to go to Target is fine with me. When I bought them the lady at check out said someone else had just bought the Johnson’s Baby Wash Honey Apple kind. Next time I will have to get that scent, it sounds amazing! The ones I got with the ocean animal designs were perfect for a beach themed gift basket. It was easy to make and I know the new mom will love this gift. I just adore cute and easy themed, personal gifts. It also works perfectly for boys, girls, or if the mom is waiting to find out the sex of the baby! I personally couldn’t wait, I had to know. However, I love the idea of waiting for that surprise moment of finding out once the baby is born. Maybe for the next one. read more

Unique Baby Shower Themes

I love baby showers and being in my early (clears throat) 30s I have been to quite a few over the last couple of years. I personally am a big fan of themes and I just love to see the creative themes people come up with for baby showers. I know some people aren’t as in to themes but they really help to tie everything together. I love to do something beyond the typical baby boy theme. You really have to mix it up and bring the moms personality into the party. Think about what she’s interested in and go from there. Here are a few unique themes I have helped out with for family and friends. read more

Coed Baby Shower Games

CoEd Baby Shower Games

Recently coed baby showers have become really popular. Some people prefer it to be just the ladies but I love the idea of including the father to be in the shower. He did help make the baby! I think a lot of men are worried that baby showers will be cheesy and cutesy. Baby shower games especially get a bad reputation for being silly. There definitely are a few games that are ridiculous and I prefer to avoid. However, I think baby shower games can be really fun. The key is to not do too many games and keep the party flowing. I think 2 or 3 games is a good amount. Make sure not to make a girly theme vintage, glitter and lace probably wont work as well for a coed shower. If you go with a theme make it more subtle and neutral colors some of these unique baby shower themes are awesome for coed showers: https://simplecraftyfun.com/2016/04/unique-baby-shower-themes/  Food and drinks are essential with a coed shower. Bbq is a great option, pizza, subs, meats, and cheeses. Small bites work too, just avoid tea time foods! read more

Baby Shower Rice Krispies Treats

Baby Shower Rice Krispies Treats. Cute baby block rice krispies treats - Val Event Gal

I am in baby shower mode right now! There are a few showers coming up that I am helping out with. For my sister’s baby shower years ago, my niece is now six, time flies! We had mini cakes that looked like baby blocks. They were adorable but definitely beyond my amateur skill level of baking. I wanted to recreate this concept for a baby shower but find a simpler way to do it. I decided to try to make baby shower rice krispies treats. I think they look really cute and were definitely easy to make. They aren’t perfectly smooth with the krispie treats but it is such a time saver to not actually bake a cake. The great thing is you could make these for any baby shower theme just change the colors depending on the theme. read more
